John’s history as a wedding & events DJ, stand-up comedian and photo journalist will ensure that your wedding will be well planned, smooth and organised but most of all, great fun.
John spent his youth working as a wedding and events DJ for a mobile disco company called “Rockin Robins”. In the following years he also wrote and photographed for local Fairfax and Star News Group publications
But when a good friend (a successful civil celebrant) suggested that he become a civil celebrant, he had a “Aha moment”. She said that, due to his personality and interpersonal skills, as well a thorough understanding of weddings and couples’ needs, he should become a Marriage Celebrant.
With that motivation, he wasted no time and trained under one of Melbourne’s best marriage celebrant institutions to become a caring and nurturing civil celebrant who enjoys guiding couples through the process of wedding ceremony planning.
John and his wife, Maria, of 20 years have 2 boys and he is a strong believer in the institution of healthy marriages.
He serves in his local community and assists in soup kitchens, bread runs and often donates his photographic skills at local events.
If you talked to any of the couples who chose John for their weddings, the words “charismatic”, “entertaining” and “going the extra mile” would be used to describe him. “He is quick witted and has the personality to make the ceremony fun”.
John is someone you can feel comfortable with, someone who can write a meaningful and personalised service and someone who will complement, rather than compete, with you as a couple.
He also knows how to get the best out of his voice both naturally and with the aid of his great sound system.
John is warm, friendly and humorous, writes his own scripts and personalises each service for his couples. He also prides himself on nurturing and working with his couples in order to develop and bring the bride and groom’s visions to life.
